ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A new development, including a 7 Brew drive-thru coffee shop and a retail strip mall, could be coming to the southwest corner of Riverside and N Bell School Road, although the proposal faces pushback from city planning staff.
The project, submitted by 2018DT Sandy Hollow, LLC, will go before the Zoning Board of Appeals on February 18. The developer is seeking a Special Use Permit for a Planned Unit Development to construct a standalone coffee shop with a drive-thru, along with either a sing le 11,868-square-foot strip mall or two smaller retail buildings measuring 3,864 and 7,405 square feet.
According to the submitted plans, the one building would house a 7 Brew coffee shop. The closest existing locations of 7 Brew are currently in Huntley and Algonquin, which have attracted a following for their unique coffee offerings and customer service.
