ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The community has less than two weeks left to see an updated exhibit at Midway Village Museum.
It’s called ‘Traveling While Black: Visiting Rockford in the Era of The Green Book’.
A museum rep says before the Civil Rights Act of 1964 many restaurants, hotels and businesses refused service to black people which is why local black-owned businesses like the Briggs Hotel, Chuck House Restaurant, and Joe’s Café filled the gap…
