South Beloit truck stop earns national renown

SOUTH BELOIT — With four major truck stops at the Interstate-90-Illinois 75 interchange — two on each side of the longest roadway in the United States — South Beloit is a must stop for the vast army of truck drivers that move more than 120 million tons of product on the road yearly.

Kwik Star, which opened on the northeast side of the interchange in January 2024, has already become a national favorite. In January, Trucker Path announced its annual ranking of the 100 best truck stops in the United States and the South Beloit Kwik Star truck stop was No. 3 overall.

Only Toot n’ Totum in Stratford, Texas, and Rutter’s in Bedford, Pennsylvania finished above the South Beloit Kwik Star. The next highest ranked truck stop in Illinois or Wisconsin was Abbeyland Travel Center in Curtiss, Wisconsin…
