A pilot killed in a small airplane crash in a neighborhood near the Poplar Grove Airport Feb. 14 was identified as Richard C. McClung, 83, of Rockford, according to information from the Boone County Coroner’s Office.
An autopsy conducted Feb. 17 found the preliminary cause of death to be injuries suffered in the crash. The crash damaged a house in the area, according to news reports.
