LOVES PARK, Ill. (WIFR) – A longtime local softball complex announces the immediate closing of its diamonds.
Forest Hills Diamonds announced in a Facebook post on Thursday that it will close its fields at 7742 Forest Hills Rd. in Loves Park, effective immediately. Owners say the decision comes after steadily rising operating costs and years of financial losses.
“We kept the facility open as long as possible because we wanted to continue supporting the Northern Illinois softball community, even while operating at a deficit. Unfortunately, the mounting losses no longer make it feasible to continue,” the owners wrote…
