ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Longtime Rockford‑area author and indie filmmaker Gary Hill is reaching a career milestone with the debut of his first feature‑length film, “The Others: Doom from the Stars”
The sci‑fi horror project was partially filmed in the Rockford region and has been officially selected for the 2026 Illinois Horror Film Festival, scheduled for Oct. 2–3 at the Carroll County Fairgrounds in Milledgeville.
Hill, who has been involved in more than a dozen independent productions, blends cosmic horror with modern commentary in a story set in 2065, where Earth’s deep‑space broadcast stations begin falling silent as an unknown force approaches the planet.
