KIRKLAND, Ill. (WIFR) – A 21-year-old was arrested on Thursday after officers say he was in possession of a handgun without the serial numbers in Kirkland.
Lucas H. Dombroski-Guerra is charged with two felony counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of possession of a firearm without a serial number.
Around 3:30 p.m., Feb. 19, police stopped a car in the area of Glidden Road and Illinois Route 72 for a minor code violation. During the stop, officers report seeing an open container of alcohol in the passenger seat compartment.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and a firearm was reportedly found under the driver’s seat. Police say the gun was fully loaded and did not have a serial number imprinted on it.
Reports say Dombroski-Guerra did not have a valid FOID card or Concealed Carry License and had been denied a FOID in the past…
