Deal reached: Rockford Teachers’ Union approves new contract

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Rockford Education Association (REA) has voted to ratify its tentative contract agreement with Rockford Public Schools District 205, moving the long‑negotiated deal to its final stage: approval by the District 205 Board of Education. The vote follows more than a year of bargaining between the district and the union.

The District 205 Board of Education is scheduled to review the agreement at its March 3 meeting, where a vote in favor would officially turn the tentative agreement into a new contract for REA educators.
