Rockford alderman’s DUI charges upgraded to felony

ROCKFORD, IL — Court records show prosecutors have upgraded charges of driving under the influence against Rockford Ald. Mark Bonne, D-14, from a misdemeanor to a felony.

Bonne, 63, was charged with DUI and improper lane usage in connection with a traffic stop that took place at 11:44 p.m. Jan. 26. Felony DUI charges were filed Friday against Bonne who pleaded guilty to previous DUI charges in 2005 and 2009.
