Victim Flagged Down Officers on Garrison Avenue

According to a Rockford Police press release, an investigation is underway following a robbery that unfolded on Sunday (2/22) in the 1200 block of Garrison Avenue, just north of downtown Rockford.

Around 6:35 pm, officers were flagged down by a man who had reported he had just been robbed at gunpoint. The victim told police the suspect fled the area in a vehicle shortly after the incident, prompting an immediate search by patrol units.

Suspect Located in Cherry Valley

SCOPE officers from the Rockford Police Department quickly located the robbery suspect vehicle in nearby Cherry Valley, according to the report. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 25-year-old Donovan Mitchell of Rockford, who was taken into custody without further incident…
