ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rockford man has admitted to robbing a U.S. Post Office last year.
The U.S. Department of Justice announced Wednesday that Anthony Johnson, 59, pleaded guilty in the Northern District of Illinois courtroom to the charge of robbing money from the United States.
Prosecutors said on May 27, 2025, Johnson walked a block from his home to the post office, at 1140 Broadway, where he told the clerk to give him all the money in the cash register. He stole $219 and went back to his home…
