ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A man faces up to a decade in federal prison after admitting to stealing money from a Rockford post office.
Anthony Johnson, 59, of Rockford, pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to one count of robbing money from the United States.
On May 27, 2025, Johnson walked about a block from his home to the post office at 1140 Broadway where he told the clerk to give him all the money in the cash register. After getting about $219 in cash, he ran back to his home crossing through people’s backyards…
