BYRON, Ill. (WIFR) – There is no threat to the public after multiple people were exposed to chemicals Tuesday at the Byron Nuclear Plant.
According to Constellation Energy, eight people were taken to local hospitals as a precaution after “a small amount of a common non-radiological chemical used in plant systems escaped a holding tank in the turbine building.”
All of their injuries are believed to be minor according to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office…
