MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – No one was harmed after a Beloit Transit bus started on fire on Monday morning, officials said.
The fire started in the rear wheel well of a bus around 6:30 a.m. Monday at the Beloit Transit Transfer Center on Shirland Avenue.
City officials said that the driver was leaving the transfer center when they heard a popping sound from the rear of the bus.
The driver and one passenger got off the bus and discovered the fire, quickly calling 911.
