Stateline Church purchases 19-acre lot for new church to address capacity issues

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Stateline Church in Rockford recently purchased a 19-acre lot to build a whole new church. The need for space is crucial as parking lots and the main auditorium cannot hold the around 1,700 people that come to Sunday services.

Stateline Church planted its roots in 2017 but will not move just across the street on Garret Lane. “We had a very specific area we wanted to be in because the church it’s not just a building; it’s a whole bunch of people that attend here. We didn’t want to move too far from where we currently are because then you lose a whole bunch of who make Stateline, Stateline,” said Executive Pastor, Tyler Johnson.

Pastor Johnson said after Covid they’ve seen an influx of people coming back making capacity an issue. “The parking lot and our main room, we’re out of seats, pretty much out of parking spaces. The kids’ rooms are really busting at the seams,” said Johnson…
