Winnebago County man found guilty of drug delivery and resisting arrest

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill (WTVO) — Winnebago County State’s Attorney J. Hanley announced that Jeffery Aldridge, 48, has been found guilty of delivery of a controlled substance and resisting a peace officer following a bench trial.

According to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on January 12, 2025, in the 1600 block of 7th Street after noticing a vehicle with expired registration. Deputies attempted to approach Aldridge, but he walked away from the traffic stop.

Deputies say Aldridge tried to fight them as they attempted to detain him, but he was eventually taken into custody. During the arrest, deputies found $2,000 in cash in his pocket and a large black plastic bag containing multiple tiny clear plastic bags with a white powdery substance.
