Man charged in Fitchburg hit-and-run fatal crash thought victim was ‘dangerous’

MADISON, Wis. — The Beloit man accused of intentionally running over a bicyclist in Fitchburg thought the bicyclist was “a dangerous man,” according to the criminal complaint.

Andrew Smith, 67, of Beloit, faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, hit-and-run involving death, and criminal damage to property.
