A key Rockford roadway is about to face significant traffic disruptions as crews begin resurfacing work on Monday (3/30).
Construction Set to Impact Major East-West Route
According to a press release from the City of Rockford’s Public Works office, drivers in the city are being warned to prepare for delays as resurfacing work begins on Newburg Road.
The project will stretch from South Alpine Road to South Mulford Road, a heavily traveled corridor on the city’s east side.
Lane Closures and Traffic Disruptions
City officials confirmed that both eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed throughout the construction zone.
The lane reductions are expected to significantly slow traffic during peak travel times, particularly for commuters and school traffic in the area.
