ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A pop-up market aimed to expand access to fresh, healthy foods for local families.
Aetna Better Health of Illinois had their fresh food event at Zion Lutheran Church. The goal was to provide the community with fruits and vegetables. People were also able to connect with local resources designed to support health, wellness and stability.
“It’s very important to provide the produce to this community because there’s a lot of people that are unfortunately homeless that comes through these doors. There’s a lot of different people, low-income population in this area.
