ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A local man wins the top prize on his favorite scratch-off lottery ticket at a gas station in Rockford, according to the Illinois Lottery.
The anonymous winner won $1 million on a $25 Crossword 50X ticket at the Gas Depot, located at 4900 W. State Street.
The man says he has been a fan of the crossword-style tickets for years.
“I like to slowly scratch off the words to reveal the prizes—it’s my absolute favorite game,” he said. “When I saw I had won, I had to do a double take—I simply couldn’t believe it.”…
