Work on the Baxter Road bridge over Interstate 39 began on March 23, according to a community announcement.
The project will repair the bridge deck, replace the expansion joints and install a deck overlay, according to the announcement from the Illinois Department of Transportation. One lane will be open on the bridge, and traffic will be controlled by temporary signals at the exit ramps.
