‘Disorderly DoorDasher’ arrested after dispute at Machesney Park Pizza Hut

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) – A Rockford man is booked in the Winnebago County Jail after failing to appear for a disorderly conduct case stemming from an incident in January at a Pizza Hut.

Gordon Michaelson, 48, failed to appear in court April 3, according to records.

The case began around 5 p.m. Jan. 31 when deputies were called to the Pizza Hut on West Lane Road in Machesney Park for a “disorderly DoorDasher.” The report says Michaelson felt employees there “stole” money from him during a previous order, and he wanted the pizza chain to pay him back. Michaelson reportedly told deputies he believed the employees pocketed his tip money and stole from other DoorDashers.

Employees disagreed with Michaelson’s comments. They claim they got an order over the phone, took that customer’s payment information and printed a receipt. Michaelson first came in around 2:30 p.m. to pick up the order and allegedly told an employee he “likes to cause scenes at restaurants” hoping to get banned. The employee told the deputy that Michaelson mentioned Little Caesar’s, and she was confused by that comment…
