Rickie Traeger pleads not guilty to allegedly threatening to shoot Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Rickie Traeger, the man behind Rockford Scanner, pleads not guilty to charges in a Winnebago County courtroom on Saturday.

Traeger, 46, pleaded not guilty to three counts of threatening a public official.

According to court documents, on April 10, 2026, Traeger sent an email to Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara.

Some contents of the alleged email include: ‘hold your family close you never know when today could be your last,’ and ‘you’re never gonna forget me.’…
