Rockford man admits to robbing Beloit bank

BELOIT, Wis. (WIFR) – A 36-year-old Rockford man will be sentenced after admitting to robbing a Beloit bank in October 2024.

Mario Johnson Manns Jr. pleaded guilty April 9 to one felony count of robbery of a financial institution, according to Wisconsin court records.

On Oct. 30, 2024, Beloit police were called to the FirstMid Bank and Trust in the 2200 block of Cranston Road for a robbery.

Beloit Daily News reports the suspect came into the branch wearing an “old man” mask, threatened a teller and got away with more than $12,500. Investigators reportedly found clothing and the mask in a nearby wooded area, which were sent away for DNA testing.

Test results linked Johnson Manns to the crime and he was arrested…
