RVC softball advances to Region IV Final 4 with a dominant win against Kankakee CC

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — The Rock Valley College softball team boosted its record to 55-3 Saturday afternoon by defeating Kankakee Community College 11-2 in five innings. More importantly, this NJCAA D2 Regional Quarterfinal win advances RVC to Moline next weekend for the Region 4 Final Four.Two of the four teams will advance from that Final Four to the NJCAA D2 National Tournament.In this game, RVC jumped on Kankakee for nine runs in the bottom of the first inning. Mckayla Henline had an RBI single and outfielder Nyah Allen had a bases loaded triple. Freshman shortstop Ella Dannhorn, a graduate of Oregon High School, unloaded a solo home run in the fourth inning. That was her 14th of the season. Molly Roe got the win in the circle for RVC going 3.2 innings. Addie Seitz finished off the game.RVC’s 55th win leaves the team to wins shy of tying the school record for wins in a season.
