Scattered showers Tuesday brings cool conditions for the middle of the week

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Showers and thunderstorms will clear out Tuesday morning, giving way to cooler and drier conditions for the rest of the week.

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm are likely before 5 a.m., then a slight chance of showers between 7 a.m. and noon. Skies will remain cloudy and winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are expected, except higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 46 degrees. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph will gust as high as 20 mph.
