SACRAMENTO, California — Reginald Jones, a 36-year-old from Sacramento, has pleaded guilty to 15 counts of drug trafficking offenses and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, U.S. Attorney Eric Grant announced.
Jones and his co-conspirators were involved in shipping hundreds of thousands of fentanyl pills across the country for over a year, according to court documents. Law enforcement intercepted several packages sent by Jones and his associates, discovering fentanyl pills often concealed inside children’s toys. Approximately 450,000 fentanyl pills were seized through shipments and search warrants, with law enforcement estimating over one million pills were distributed to various states.
During searches related to the conspiracy, agents uncovered hundreds of thousands of fentanyl pills, over $80,000 in cash, and 17 firearms. Some of the contraband was hidden in a secret compartment in a vehicle, according to the press release…
