Dangerous Heat Looms, Elevated Fire Risk

Clear skies persist tonight across the North Valley with overnight temperatures dropping into the mid-50s. We are monitoring elevated fire weather conditions which continue today, particularly in the north valley, due to lingering gusty winds and low humidity. These conditions pose a heightened risk for fire ignitions through the afternoon and early evening.

Looking ahead to Monday and Tuesday, precipitation chances have diminished, and we anticipate near-normal temperatures, generally in the low to mid-80s for the Sacramento Valley. Relative humidifies will see a slight increase, offering minimal relief, while some breezy to gusty winds are possible in the Delta and adjacent Valley areas on Monday afternoon and evening.

A significant warming trend begins mid-week, bringing hotter than normal temperatures to the region. Highs will reach the upper 90s by Thursday, then climb into the triple digits, reaching the low to mid-100s by the weekend across the Valley, Delta, and lower foothills. This heat will be dangerous so please stay hydrated and limit your time outdoors!…
