4 outbuildings damaged in south Sacramento grass fire amid tough conditions

Firefighters stopped forward progress on a 2-acre grass fire in south Sacramento County that damaged four outbuildings and threatened multiple homes Wednesday afternoon, officials with the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said.

About 12:55 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the area of Elder Creek Road and Bradshaw Boulevard near the Vineyard neighborhood, Metro Fire spokesperson Capt. Mark Nunez said in a news release.
