Roseville child exploitation case from 2008 leads to federal charges

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A federal grand jury indicted a Reno man on charges of sexually exploiting a child in an incident dating back to 2008, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California.

Jeffrey Alan Koehl, 60, faces two counts of sexual exploitation of a child. According to court documents, Koehl coerced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct at a residence in Roseville in February 2008 and used a handheld camera to record two videos.

The victim, now an adult, learned of the videos and submitted an online tip on Jan. 20, 2025, that was received by the FBI National Threat Operations Center. The tip led to a federal investigation…
