Neck Wound Death On Rene Avenue Shakes North Sacramento Block

A late-night call turned a quiet north Sacramento block into a full-blown crime scene Friday, after officers found a woman dead on Rene Avenue, according to police.

Officers arrived just before midnight on the 2300 block of Rene Avenue, where they located an adult woman who was pronounced dead at the scene. Crime Scene Investigators worked into the early morning hours, combing the street and nearby homes for evidence while several people from a nearby residence were detained for questioning.

According to Public Safety News, preliminary reports indicated the woman had a neck wound that appeared to have been caused by a knife.
