Tens of thousands lose power in Placer County outage, PG&E says

Widespread power outages hit the Sacramento area Saturday morning but were largely resolved before noon, according to Pacific Gas and Electric Co.

About 40,000 PG&E customers were without power at 9:30 a.m. in Placer County and more than 3,600 were affected in El Dorado County, according to the PG&E online outage website. More than 5,000 of those customers were near Granite Bay, according to PG&E’s outage map, with Auburn also heavily affected.

Crews worked to fix the outages. Shortly before 11:45 a.m., the number of Placer County customers without power was less than 775, according to the company’s outage map, and the El Dorado County outage was largely resolved…
