(FOX40.COM) — The California Department of Fish and Wildlife reported on Saturday that invasive golden mussels were found in and around the Port of West Sacramento.
Officials said that the golden mussel detection is the northernmost since 2024, when the species was discovered in the Port of Stockton in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
According to CDFW, one mussel was found between the Jefferson Boulevard overpass and the west lock, and a second was found near the intersection of Boathouse Road and Stone Boulevard…
