First US sodium-ion plant to produce 4 GWh of grid storage to power 4 million homes

An industrial manufacturing plant capable of producing 4 gigawatt-hours of battery systems annually—enough capacity to supply electricity to nearly four million households—will be built in Northern California.

The upcoming 183,000-square-foot facility establishes the first production site in the United States dedicated entirely to manufacturing sodium-ion energy storage systems for electrical grids.
