New Hong Kong Wok, the Cantonese restaurant at 5019 Freeport Blvd in Sacramento’s South Land Park neighborhood, has new ownership. State filings show Wenda Huang filed for a new liquor license on September 3, transferring from Yong Ling Wu, who had held the license since August 2025. Huang confirmed to What Now Sacramento that the actual change of ownership took place back in May, with the recent filing simply catching the paperwork up to that transition, and said customers should not expect any major changes to the restaurant.
The Chinnese restaurant has built a loyal following over the years for traditional Cantonese cafe style dishes, including beef chow fun, wonton noodle soup, congee and barbecue roast meats like pork and duck, alongside Hong Kong style milk tea. With more than 1,400 photos and hundreds of reviews on Yelp, regulars describe it as a longtime neighborhood favorite for authentic, generously portioned Cantonese cooking, some even calling it their family’s go to spot for celebrating big occasions…
