WHITE DEER TWP., UNION COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two men were arrested Thursday during a traffic stop that resulted in the seizing of gold bars and coins obtained in a fraudulent U.S. Immigration, Customs, and Enforcement (ICE) scam, according to police.
Gagandeep Singh, 24, and Ajaypreet Singh, 22, both of Elk Grove, California, were arrested at a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Union County, which police said resulted in the seizure of $215,000 in gold bars and coins.
During the traffic stop, state police said they found 34 gold bars and nine gold coins hidden under seats and in socks. In addition to the gold, police found an affidavit with for an identity theft investigation by an ICE agent named Andrew Hall.
