(FOX40.COM) — Two men from Elk Grove were arrested in a Pennsylvania traffic stop after police seized gold bars and coins acquired from a fraudulent federal agent scam on Sept. 10, Pennsylvania State Police said in a press release.
The suspects, Gagandeep Singh, 24, and Ajaypreet Singh, 22, were discovered with approximately $215,000 worth of gold bars and coins during a traffic stop conducted on Interstate 80 in Union County, PA. The gold was found hidden inside Ajaypreet’s shoe as well as beneath the driver and passenger seats of the vehicle.
During the search, an envelope containing a completed identity theft victim’s complaint and affidavit was found in the rear seat of the vehicle. The victim listed in the documents, Angelo Sala, was listed to have been defrauded out of approximately $2.5 million and under investigation by an ICE agent by the name of Andrew Hall. After further investigation by police, Andrew Hall was uncovered to be one of the fabricated aliases used by the suspects to defraud victims in the United States…
