A fire engine being used for training rolled over Friday afternoon in southeastern Sacramento County near Sloughhouse, injuring three firefighters, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said.
The single-vehicle crash involving a California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection training engine occurred near Ione and Claypit roads, according to the California Highway Patrol incident log. The CHP’s East Sacramento office received a report about 1:30 p.m. that the fire engine had rolled into a ditch.
Metro Fire personnel responded and found three people who had safely exited the engine and suffered minor injuries. All three were taken to a hospital for evaluation, Metro Fire said in a statement…
