Angels Camp, CA…Stabbing Investigation Leads to Arrest in Sacramento CountyOn September 22, 2026, at approximately 4:17 a.m., Angels Camp Police Officers were notified that an adult male had arrived at Mark Twain Medical Center in San Andreas suffering from stab wounds reportedly sustained in Angels Camp following a verbal disturbance with an unknown male.
The victim initially told Calaveras County Sheriff’s Deputies that the stabbing occurred in the 1200 block of South Main Street. Officers responded to the area but were unable to locate a crime scene or evidence that the stabbing had occurred there. The victim’s injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening, and he was transferred to San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp for additional treatment.
Over the following days, officers continued investigating the incident. Information obtained through Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) technology and privately owned video surveillance helped officers develop a timeline involving a vehicle and person associated with the incident. The investigation indicated the stabbing did not occur on South Main Street as initially reported.
