An Angels Camp woman faced felony assault and child endangerment charges in Calaveras County after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend and fled with their child to Sacramento County, authorities said.
Kayla Leah Skye Overby, 28, of Angels Camp, surrendered to Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies in south Sacramento, where she has family and friends, and voluntarily returned to Calaveras County on Sept. 25 with Angels Camp police. Officers arrested Overby on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, felony child endangerment, felony vehicle theft and felony domestic violence in connection with the Sept. 22 incident, the Angels Camp Police Department said in a statement.
Angels Camp officers learned of the incident early Sept. 22. A man being treated for stab wounds at Mark Twain Hospital in San Andreas initially told investigators he was attacked by another man during an argument. The stabbing victim had earlier told Calaveras County sheriff’s deputies that he was attacked in the 1200 block of South Main Street in Angels Camp, but deputies found no evidence of an attack there…
