Near-record high temps this week under California heat wave

Summer, it seems, is still with us.

It’s not all that uncommon to see October high temperatures across the Central Valley in the 90s — any warmer than average pattern will do that. What is less common is just how much hotter these temperatures are and how long they have been sticking around.

After rising into the 90s last week, Sacramento topped out with a blazing high of 99 degrees on Saturday, while other parts of the Central Valley breached 100 degrees (looking at you Redding). Further towards the coast, Santa Rosa hit 102 on Friday while San Francisco even hit 90 degrees…
