One of two suspects in a Woodland homicide extradited to Yolo County

(FOX40.COM) — One of two suspects in a 2021 Woodland homicide was extradited from Philadelphia to Yolo County on Jan. 12, according to the Woodland Police Department.

On June 24, 2021, officers found a 67-year-old Arbuckle resident dead inside a room at the Quality Inn and Suites in Woodland.

Investigators determined the death to be a homicide and that the suspects were likely from Philadelphia.

With assistance from the Philadelphia Police Department, 48-year-old Markeec Brunson was arrested by Woodland officers on Aug. 6, 2023, on a no-bail homicide warrant.

Brunson was extradited to Woodland with assistance from the US Marshals Service.

The second suspect, Donald Womack, 46, was already in custody for an unrelated crime in Pennsylvania.

Womack is in the process of being extradited, according to police.
