The organization that conducts the count is Sacramento Steps Forward (SSF). This non-profit works with local, state, and federal agencies to “accomplish a shared goal of ending homelessness.”

Sacramento Steps Forward CEO Lisa Bates said, “The PIT is a huge community-wide effort that gives people a chance to make a meaningful contribution toward a better understanding of where we are and is a great way to contribute toward addressing and ultimately ending homelessness.”
