Kings Overcome Late Push in 120-115 Win vs. Mavericks

One night after scoring a shocking 73 points, Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks hosted the Sacramento Kings with a rest advantage. Without Kyrie Irving , the Mavericks felt short-handed on their way to a 120-115 loss to Sacramento despite yet another impressive performance from Doncic.

Doncic finished with 28 points, 17 assists, and ten rebounds, notching his ninth triple-double of the season, third in the NBA behind Kings’ Domantas Sabonis and Denver Nuggets Nikola Jokic . Doncic’s teammate Grant Williams stepped up for a short-handed Mavericks squad, scoring a career-high 27 points, shooting 7-10 from deep.

These performances were not enough for Dallas, as Sacramento had one of their most impressive games of the season. All five Kings starters finished with double-digit points, led by All-Star De’Aaron Fox with 34. After back-to-back 30+ points games, veteran wing Harrison Barnes stepped up again with 20 points.

Despite leading the whole game, the Kings almost gave the game away with time running out, as the Mavericks outscored Sacramento 40-26 in the fourth quarter. The Kings have fallen apart on multiple occasions this season in similar situations but ultimately prevailed to get out of Dallas with a win.
