The City of Roseville and the Roseville Police Department first brought their concerns about the park’s longtime layout to the public in 2021.
Officers said the park is difficult to conduct rolling patrols on due to the elevated platform of the park along Main Street and large trees keeping officers from having a clear sight line across the park.

At one point the Roseville City Council presented plans to develop the northern portion of the park into housing to eliminate the large grass area that is a reported problem area in the neighborhood.
On Friday, the city announced several upcoming changes to the park including;
• Lowering the park’s grade by 8 feet to street level along Main Street for better visibility and access
• Adding dedicated police vehicle parking for added safety
• Adding a loop pathway, fitness stations and more play space
• Removing the bathrooms that were also noted as a problem area by neighbors
• Adding new tables for outdoor gatherings
• Relocating the basketball court from its current location along Circuit Drive to a more central location in the park.
