Originally Published By: Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. “At approximately 2 PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, a male inmate housed at the Sacramento County Main Jail was stabbed five to six times by a group of another three male inmates. This assault took place during recreation time on 5-East. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital and is expected to survive his injuries. The other three inmates were subsequently detained and isolated without further incident.
