(FOX40.COM) — A Redding man is facing charges related to the alleged theft of some $700,000 worth of hospital equipment from a Folsom hospital, according to the Folsom Police Department.
Reports were first filed with the police department in March 2022 by a representative of Mercy Folsom Hospital who suspected an employee of stealing medical equipment.
Scams to look out for during the 2024 tax season
The suspect was identified as a 33-year-old Redding man who was working at the hospital as a Materials Management Technician at the time of the alleged thefts.
The Folsom Police Department, Mercy Hospital and other county and federal-level agencies assisted in investigating the suspect.

An arrest warrant was issued for embezzlement, grand theft and tax evasion-related charges, and the man was located and arrested by the Redding Police Department on Thursday.
He is now being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail.
