Several thousand Northern California residents still without power more than 24 hours amid storm

(FOX40.COM) — More than 24 hours after an atmospheric river storm with strong winds caused power outages across the state, thousands of Northern California residents are still without electricity.

Placer County

Over 22,000 Placer County residents do not have electricity in their homes as of 3:30 p.m. on Monday, according to Pacific Gas and Electric ( PG&E ).

Sacramento

Over 200,000 Sacramento residents without power amid atmospheric river storm

Hundreds of thousands of people lost power on Sunday afternoon. At the peak of the storm, there were over 200,000 residents without electricity. However, as of 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Sacramento Municipal Utility District, ( SMUD ) reported that 18,566 are awaiting power restoration.

Stockton

As of 3:30 p.m. on Monday, 906 Stockton residents are still experiencing a power outage, according to PG&E .

Sutter and Yuba County

The number of people without power increased on Monday, according to PG&E. At around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, 3,276 Yuba County residents and 1,386 Sutter County residents were without electricity .
