Following an 18-month-long and intricate investigation into the devastating fire at the iconic Moore’s Riverboat Restaurant and Marina, a breakthrough has been achieved with one suspect pleading guilty to arson.
Rolly Byrd, the implicated individual, entered the guilty plea, while a second suspect, Wyatt Tripp, faced arrest and conviction on unrelated firearms violations during the extensive inquiry.
The sentencing for Rolly Byrd’s arson charge has been determined, resulting in a two-year prison term with credit for time served, one Strike, and mandatory lifetime arson registration.
The fire, which occurred at the historic Moore’s Riverboat Restaurant and Marina, led to an estimated $1 million in damages, leaving a profound impact on the local community.
The investigation was spearheaded by CAL FIRE – Office of the State Fire Marshal, Arson and Bomb Unit, with collaborative efforts from River Delta Fire District, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, Fugitive Task Force and SWAT Teams, and Amador County Sheriff’s Department.
