In a commendable joint effort, the Roseville Police Department (RPD) and the city’s Open Space team have achieved a significant decrease in homeless encampments, fostering a safer environment for the community.
Last week, Police Chief Bergstrom, along with the Social Services unit and the dedicated Open Space crew, embarked on a patrol along the greenbelt stretch adjacent to Sierra College Blvd. During this patrol, they encountered an abandoned encampment that posed a serious flood risk to the nearby creeks.
The collaborative response from RPD and the Open Space team was swift, resulting in the prompt removal of the encampment. This action not only eliminated the flood risk but also contributed to enhancing the overall safety of the community.
Chief Bergstrom captured moments from the patrol through a series of photos, showcasing the hard work and dedication exhibited by the Open Space crew in addressing this critical issue.
The success of this collaborative initiative underscores the commitment of the Roseville Police Department to work hand-in-hand with community partners to address challenges like homelessness. The cooperative efforts reflect the dedication to ensuring the well-being of all residents and making Roseville a safer place for everyone.
